Warwickshire County Championships

Each year the County holds a number of Championship Tournaments which are open to all Warwickshire archers, including juniors.

  • For details of upcoming tournaments see the Tournaments Page
  • For Results of past events, see below.

Outdoor Target

For many years, the senior and junior championships were held separately, but from 2010 they have been combined, and held in July.  Seniors shoot the World Archery 1440 rounds and juniors the appropriate metric rounds (Metric I-V).

Indoor Target

The indoor championships for both senior and junior archers are held at the end of January.  All archers shoot the Portsmouth round.  In 2012 and 2013, the tournament was hosted by Quantum Archers. More recently we have used other venues.

The County Field Championships were suspended for a couple of years following the closure of the venue we had been using.  Meriden hosted the shoot in 2010 and 2011.  Merlin Archery have hosted the event in recent times. This is a marked field course and is suitable for archers of all ages and most abilities.

The County Clout Championships was held in conjunction with the annual clout tournament held by Bowflights every September. This is a double one-way clout to Archery GB rules with distances for gents, ladies, and juniors. All entrants must have received clout training to be aware of the rules and scoring procedure.
