Warwickshire Junior Squad Competition 2013
This competition is open to all members of the County Junior Squad and involves shooting at a minimum of 3 out of 5 nominated indoor and outdoor competitions. Full details can be downloaded here.
All junior members of the CWAA
For several months now we have been structuring the County Junior Squad.
With monthly indoor coaching sessions taking place in January, February and March you have the opportunity to develop your technique, gain a better understanding of your equipment set up and maintenance, build confidence to enter competitions and meet some of your fellow juniors from around the County.
The numbers attending have been steadily growing but there are still places available for any other Warwickshire Juniors that are interested and want to attend.
We have introduced 2 sections to our sessions, the ‘Development Squad’ and the ‘Performance Squad’. This ‘split’ has been introduced to allow more time to be spent with our archers and to be able to deliver coaching at the right level.
Indoor sessions take place at Quantum’s indoor facility at King Edward VI Handsworth School, Rose Hill Road, Handsworth, Birmingham (Use Hall Road entrance B20 2BQ)
The Development squad will be meeting from 9.30am till 1pm and the Performance squad from 1.30pm until 4pm. If you are interested in attending then please make contact with Geoff (details below)
In the warmer months outdoor sessions take place and this year will be at Leamington and Nuneaton so you can put the dates in your diaries (or is that phones!)
We are running our own ‘County Junior competition’ where scores from 3 out of 5 nominated competitions will be used to decide our own ‘Junior Champion.’ See details above and get entering.
So if you would like to come along and have some ‘extra’ coaching then please do so. You will need to bring along your parent/guardian as we would like to speak to them as well. If your club coach wants to come along then by all means get them there as well. You will also need your bow (good idea for an archery squad!) as you will be shooting at some point in the session.
